Leon Perrie of the herbarium at Te Papa will be April's speaker at Nature Talks.
A very active researcher of ferns, the topic for this talk is 'Discovering Ferns'.
Information discussed will include; what separates ferns from other plants, the place of ferns in New Zealand culture, recent research of ferns including the role of DNA analysis, ferns in the broader context of conservation in New Zealand, and practical tips for identifying ferns.
