Autumn School Holiday Programme

Need something to keep the kids occupied these school holidays? Then why not book them in for one or all of these school holiday sessions.
All the sessions have materials provided and are free (koha appreciated) and for ages 5+
The classes are held in the Museum's Education Room which has entry access from the top carpark - look for the red door.

WEEK ONE focuses on upcycling tin cans into amazing crafty creations
MONDAY 16 APRIL - 1pm TIN CAN robot - use a tin can and mixed materials to construct a fun robot
WEDNESDAY 18 APRIL - 1pm TIN CAN wind sock - using a tin can, create a colourful wind sock to hang outside
FRIDAY 20 APRIL - 1pm TIN CAN animals and pencil holders - create a funky animal for either use in the garden or to hold pencils or tiny treasures
WEEK TWO is in conjunction with the Whanganui District Council's LIGHT UP BIKE SPECTACLE which is scheduled for 4 May. The sessions are focused on creating and using lights and lanterns to be used in the parade.
MONDAY 23 APRIL - 1pm GLOW STICK creations - use glow sticks as a basis to make wearable items to help you glow in the parade, and are just as much fun at home!
TUESDAY 24 APRIL - 1pm JAR lanterns Using glass jars, embellish and creat a decorated lantern which can house an LED tealight candle to be carried or attached to a bicycle. BYO GLASS JAR for this activity, all other materials provided.
THURSDAY 26 APRIL - 1pm PAPER lantern creations Decorate a paper lantern to create transportable globes that can hold a LED tealight candle.
Keep an eye out for information from the Whanganui District Council regarding a workshop held by the Rangiwahia Environmental Arts Centre on Friday 27 April
